About Jean Guilfoile
I started painting when I took my first watercolor class at age 59 from a wonderful watercolor artist/teacher by the name of Joe Garcia in California. I was inspired to take his class from seeing the beautiful work of my best friend's daughter, who referred me to him as her teacher. It took two years to get into his class. That's when I realized I had a talent and a passion for watercolor painting, and I've been painting, taking classes, and studying on my own ever since.
Since moving to Vermont I have been teaching watercolor classes on a volunteer basis to my friends and neighbors; I am a member of the Essex Art League and the Vermont Watercolor Society; and now at 89 years old I've found you can never have too many watercolor books!
